The Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle SuperSonics were all smiles after the NBA Draft Lottery, held May 22nd in New Jersey, after they were awarded the first and second overall picks, respectively, in the upcoming NBA Draft.
According to many basketball experts, this years draft class is supposed to be one of the best in recent memory. 10 of the 14 top picks, including six of the first seven, belong to NBA Summer League teams.
This year's class features two of the top players in the college game, Ohio State's Greg Oden and Texas' Kevin Durant, two players that are expected to have a huge impact on their respective club.
Last year's first overall pick, Andrea Bargnani of the Toronto Raptors, competed in the summer league in Las Vegas and showed the promise and basketball abilities that the Raptors expected.
With the likelihood of both Oden and Durant seeing action in this year's summer league, along with many other top collegiate and international players, the NBA Summer League is poised for much success.
