Kevin Martin took the momentum he gained during the NBA's postseason, in which he led the league in free throw percentage (29-29 FT), while averaging 13.2 ppg, to the 2006 Toshiba Vegas Summer League. In July, he averaged 22.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 1.8 apg as the Kings went 4-1 at the NBA's premiere summer league.  more »
Two Toshiba Vegas Summer League teams, the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers, left for Europe this past Friday to begin a two week training period across the Atlantic in which they will compete against select European teams. The Suns and Clippers are joined by fellow NBA teams the San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers in holding their training camps overseas.  more »
Las Vegas played host to more than just the annual Toshiba Vegas Summer League in July. At the conclusion of the TVSL, NBA stars representing teams across the league made their ways to Thomas & Mack Center, as members of the USA Men's basketball team, to prepare for the 2006 FIBA World Championships set to tip off on Aug. 19 from Japan.  more »

The third edition of the Toshiba Vegas Summer League kicks off July 6th and will feature a record-16 first round draft picks. Andrea Bargnani (Toronto Raptors) and LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers), the first and second overall picks, respectively, in the 2006 NBA Draft, are scheduled to participate.  more »

The Toronto Raptors, who had a 8.8 percent chance of claiming the first overall selection, got the lucky bounce of the ping pong ball Tuesday night and now claim the first overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. The draft is slated to take place on June 28th and will feature seven Toshiba Vegas Summer League teams picking in the first 12 picks.  more »

For Suns guard Leandro Barbosa, his first playoffs-with significant minutes-have come with unexpected pressures, namely the challenge of stepping into the starting lineup and guarding the NBA's most prolific scorer. During the 2005-06 regular season, his third in the NBA, Barbosa averaged a career high 13.1 points per game coming off the bench, but the first round of the playoffs proved to really be Barbosa's chance to shine.  more »
