Gerald Green’s basketball skills have drawn comparisons to Houston Rockets’ All-Star Tracy McGrady.

The McDonald’s All-American from Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, Texas worked out for the New Orleans Hornets Monday afternoon in preparation for the upcoming 2005 NBA Draft.

Green did not disappoint in his workout for the Hornets, showcasing his shooting range, quickness, vertical leap and athletic ability.

"He is the best player we have brought in, athletic wise. He is off the charts," said Hornets coach Byron Scott. "He has a great basketball body, he is long, can shoot the ball, runs well and his vertical was by far the best of any player we have had in here for workouts."

The Hornets own the fourth pick in the draft and will be one of 16 teams competing in the Reebok Vegas Summer League (July 6-15) at COX Pavilion in Las Vegas.
